I don't know what happened, but I seriously thought I replied to replies already. Almost sure of it... now it's gone.

Anyway, the felt recoil in the field doesn't bother me at all. If one man can handle it, I can probably do it just as easy. My concern is about developing a flinch from using the gun on the bench. I'm an accuracy freak and believe I push my hunting rifle's ability to the max without the use of hand loads, modified guns, etc. Shooting several high powered rounds on the bench has developed flinches in more than just a few shooters I'm sure. I want to be able to sight in my rifle, get a feel for it, get some practice... all without worrying about bad habits. If I'm going to be taking a shot on whitetails at 350yds, I want the confidence to know I'll do my job right.

To paint the picture more clearly, I want to make sure the "thump" I'll receive time after time from firing the gun will not be enough of an impact to affect the psychological aspect of pulling the trigger developing a flinch or jerk of the trigger due to anticipation of the recoil, etc. I figure the proper pad will reduce the recoil enough to where I won't worry about developing any bad habits that may arise for firing larger caliber weapons.
Thanks for the info. I'll use the info.
