handi standard or HB, is the accuracy better?

love my 243 standard, getting 1.5-2moa without really working up a load yet. still shooting the loads that did real well in my savage. . Is the heavy barrel ALWAYS more accurate? or is it totally depending on randomly getting a "good one"?? From reading this forum I have found that some barrels are great right out of the box and some need much tuning to get sub moa. Please tell me if I can be certain to get better accuracy with the heavy. If it is just a throw of the dice I'll keep the standard. THANKS A BUNCH FOR ALL YOUR SHARED EXPERIENCE. gary

I think the general concensus is the 24" bull barrel is the most accurate of the bunch, but a lot depends on your intended use. The 22" standard barrel would make a nicer carry rifle, but then the Superlight would be even better, but it's more finicky and susceptible to barrel heat, either the 22" or 24" bull barrel would be better in that respect.

tim, I read every one of your forum posts regarding the standard vs bull..  Me think the 22" bull will be better since mostly I sit and shoot. looking for that perfect reload recipe.  I'm partial to short barrels since I have a history of breaking things in the house with long guns. mostly ceiling fans
