I posted this on the levergun forum and I thought I should post it here also.
I want to turn a 30-30 SRC into a 25-35 win. I called Cosby Custom Gunsmithing and they said they could reline the barrel for about $375. Is there anymore gunsmiths that do this work?
Are relines any good or should I just have them put a new barrel on? A new barrel would cost a little more to do, but is it worth the trouble?
What do you guys think?

I would go for the new barrel. I've never been a fan of relined barrels for high powered rifle calibers.

That strikes me as a mite expensive for relining, but mebbe' I'm outta' touch....

:? I just talked to Redmans Rifling and Reboring and they said it is not possible to reline a 30-30 to a 25-35 because the barrel is to thin and you can't use the chamber of the 30-30. I had suspected this and that's why I decided to call some other places. It looks like I will be looking for a place to put a new barrel on. Any suggestions?
