Why limit yourself to reloader 22?

Me personally, I would use IMR 4350

Tell him to buy some IMR 4350.  Then put a bunch of it in the case with a 200gr NP or Grand Slam or Woodleigh bullet on top and you're good to go.   ;D

My fav is 77gr RL-22 and 180gr NosP for a chrono vel of 3040fps.  Primer is a CCI LMR.  Though now I'm working up a load with 200gr NosABs and will probably use RL-22.  It's a great powder and I use it on almost all of my medium diameter cartridges and heavy bullets such as .270, 06 and 300win.  I use H414 for almost everthing else.

I am also a fan of  IMR 4350 for the 300WM.

Don't know about the Reloader Powders. I always had my best results with H4831.

My favorite so far for my Remington 700  300 Win mag is ,
190 grain Hornady BTSP
70 grains IMR 4831
Chronographed 2930 fps
Barrel length 24 inches
Very accurate load... ;D

There is nothing wrong with 4831, and a compressed load would probably be around 74 grains of powder with the 190 gr bullet.

But my experience with that powder was that it burned a little dirtier than the 4350 and that the 4350 has a little better burn rate than the 4831 and the 4350 uses a little less powder to do the same thing.

Less powder = more reloads per a can of powder.

Velocity suffers some with the 4350, but speed isn't everything that it is cracked up to be!

I would rather have it hit where I aimed and not bruise my shoulder than have a hot rod load that makes a bigger bang and is all over the target.

I have always had the best luck using RL-22 in the 300 Win Mag. 78.5 grains over a 180gr Accubond is a deady combination, atleast is has been for me. ;D

I know it aint RL-22 but I have had really good luck with 79 grains of Ramshot Magnum and 180 accubonds. Magnum meters really well also.
