Timney Trigger Spring

Can someone give me directions on putting a new 2.5lb trigger spring on an Browning A-bolt.

 I have a Timney trigger spring on each of my 5 A-Bolts. I have the medium on the big game rifles & light on the varmint. Just take the barreled action off the stock & then I think you need something to push out a pin to get at the trigger. Once you see the factory spring it should be easy to replace it. I have not done it in a while but I think you just need a small pin punch that will not scratch up things. It shouldn't be hard at all & I thought there were some directions with the sping kit.

Right about the instructions they should be there on the package.  The one pin that has to be pushed out is easy.  If you use the right size punch or drift it will come out without hitting on it.

Can someone tell me how you take the barreled action off the stock?

As I posted on your other thread on this question. If you do not know how to remove the action from the stock you have no business trying to replace parts of the trigger assembly. Take it to someone who knows what they are doing.

i think he is referring to the problem i ran into. my a-bolt was glass bedded at the factory and would NOT come loose from the stock. the trick is to get a rubber mallet and GENTLY tap the barrel as close to the forearm as you can, while holding the gun upside down over a VERY soft surface, should it fall.

mine took quite a few taps but it did come loose.
