I just found the perfect portable shooting bench for me. I don't know how many of you work construction but I always have a tool box and a set of folding saw horses in the back of my truck. I went out Groundhog hunting for a little while this morning and got to thinking about it. So I pulled a tool box out and one saw horse. It works perfect just ask the Groundhog I got at over 400 yards this morning. Oh yea you can't. ;D I have a 6'' to 9'' bi pod that I rest on top of the saw horse. I then can rest my right elbow on my thigh and have a real solid three point rest. It is almost as good as shooting off a bench with sand bags. I don't know why it took me so long to think of this but glad I did. I think I will buy a new folding saw horse just for this and put a piece of carpet on top. Let me know what you guy's think of it.            Dale

Something else that works well too is the Workmate , it gives you a bit bigger top for ammo , spooting scope , coffie mug or Binocs and keeps the same height .

Stimpy that is also a good idea. I was just thinking I have a Caldwell front rest that I use when I got to the range. Maybe I could take it apart and bore a hole through the saw horse or the Workmate and thread it through the top. This way I would have an adjustable front rest.   Dale

Man that is one weird looking rifle,   What is the thing sticking out behind the chamber, and how does it break open with the one piece stock like that.   Never seen anything like it.

Yep that is a strange looking Handi,it looks alot like a CZ that I use sometimes when I'm serious about killing things at long range's.   ;D ;D ;D  Digger

The "range" I go to has only one bench.  I can see how the sawhorse or Workmate ideas could be very useful for me.  Thanks people.
