Looking for lightweight left-handed bolt action
« on: August 31, 2007, 09:50:36 AM »
I'm looking for a left-handed lightweight bolt action rifle in 7mm-08. Can you suggest a model? (This is adult male size, not a youth model.) Synthetic stock is a big plus. Thanks.

Savage has several lines of left handed synthetic guns.

Browning A-Bolt in synthetic is a nice one too.

ms, brdavis:

Thanks again for the tip on the Tikka Lite. I just ordered it. They don't make it in 7-08, so I got it in 308 instead. In the long run, this is probably a better choice because of the relatively high availability of 308 ammo.  I handled the guns and really like the way they're made.

Sorry to hear they stop making 7m08 but 308 is better you will can find ammo anywhere. I would put the talleys rings on the rifle if you look on the tikka forma here the guys have pictures of them there better then the factory rings.

They still make it for 7-08, just not in left handed.

MS, BRDAVIS:

We got that Tiikka T3 lite. Awesome. More than I wanted to spend, but worth it. A really nice rifle that he'll be able to use as long as he wants to keep hunting.  We got it in .308. Surprisingly light recoil for such a powerful cartridge.

I own a few Tikkas, and I have been very impressed with each and every one.  I'm sure that you will be pleased.  How do you like the bolt action?  Do you find it silky smooth?

It is amazingly smooth. I really like the design a lot.

The biggest impression it made on me is how awkward a left-handed rifle is for me to operate. I think it was a good idea to cough up the extra money so he could have something like this that will be easy for him to use.
