Dropped in at a local gun shop the other day and fell in love with this gun (Savage classic 14) in 243. Anyone shoot one of these? I think I my have to try one but would like one in 308.

I don't have one, yet! But I've seen a couple and like what I see very much.
Keep us posted should you decide to "make the jump".
You might want to make an inquiry on the Savage Forum and/or check out Savage Shooters.com for additional info.

The Classic is a
very
attractive rifle, IMHO.

A buddy of mine bought one in 25.05. It is great looking and a great shooter. I have seen 1/2 to 1inch groups.

Well, I pulled the trigger. I ordered one today but decided to get one in 7-08. As soon as I can get some shooting time I will report.

Got the gun today and first looks the rifle is the best looking Savage I have seen. Savage has really worked to make a fine looking rifle.
