I know this is a very general question, but give me a ballpark figure. It's on a 96 mauser bolt.
 thank you!

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to this one.  How much??  Depends on how much the new bolt handle costs and what your gunsmith charges for an hourly rate.  You can purchase new handles from Brownells, and most likely a few other places, and probably for under one hundred bucks - that's just the handle (it can be spoon shaped like on the Mannlichers or one that looks like a Remington or Winchester handle.

The gunsmith will have to cut the old handle off, square the cut, weld the new handle in its place and polish the welded areas.  That might take a couple of hours of his 'smithin', so you can probably figure it out as to about what it might cost you.  HTH.  Mikey.

To swage the original handle is 35.00---weld on a new one is 55.00 plus the handle.
