NEW RIDE!!!
« on: August 28, 2007, 05:59:03 AM »
 ;D
I bought a new truck last night.
1996 Chevy Cheyenne 1500 4X4.
4.3l V6 5 speed
Should be OK on gas.

Oh and yes a 200 hp V6 will pull a full size 4X4.
You don't need a turbo diesel or big block to go off highway.

My 94 s10 lost 1st gear.
Kinda hard to start out on a hill with 2.2l I4 in second gear.

OK a word of advice, FLUSH THE COOLING SYSTEM! Not once not twice but thrice! and refill with traditional GREEN antifreeze and ditch the fake dexcool crap that has been silently  eating up your intake gaskets and heater core for the past 11 years. The 4.3 is a good engine but one thing you shouldn't expect is for one to get any better MPG than a 5.7 V8, expect 18 to 22 MPG depending

Was wondering about the pink stuff and how that had worked out.
It's true about the millage.
I had a 98 2wd auto.
It would get anywhere from 24 to 16 depending on the load or wind.
I am hoping the 5spd makes up for 4x4 and it does about the same.
