Well, I bought this Russian IJ70-18AH a few years back...
(That's a Russian commercial made Makarov, 9x18 caliber, with Hi-Capacity (double stack) magazines)
I paid $150 OTD for it, which I thought was a great price...especially since it was in like-new condition.
Here it is as purchased:

That was fine, I was just happy to finally have one in my collection...but I decided I needed a set of Pearce grips. Those big, blocky, poor excuses for grips just weren't cutting it.
Wow, that really dressed things up!

*Ignore the red marks, that's my poor attempt and photoshopping out the serial number!*
And finally, today, I decided the sights just weren't cutting it for me anymore.
Sure, it's nice having the adjustable target sights that are only on the Russian Makarovs...but they aren't the easiest to acquire.
I've been sitting on a Makarov.com concealed carry replacement rear sight for a quite a while. I bought it months and months ago for $24, and I noticed they've increased the price about 50%!!! Yowser!!!
That was better...it had a wider notch, and doesn't have any sharp corners to snag. However, it still wasn't cutting it for me.
Out came the Testors model paints!I painted the "U" in the rear sight argent silver, and the front sight flourescent orange for contrast.
Whaddya think?

I also fitted a Hogue Slip-On grip pad...it isn't the greatest in terms of looks, but it darn sure does make for a sticky grip! (Sorry, didn't snap a pic).
