Picture of Tikka T3 and stock
« on: August 27, 2007, 04:43:15 PM »
Does someone have a picture of the T3 out of the stock?  I am particularly interested in seeing the recoil lug in the stock and the area on the receiver where it mates.  Thanks.

Does anyone have a link or reference to a book where I could see the action and stock?  I am interested in buying one, but I would like to see the set-up of the recoil lug first.

I dont have a picture but I can describe it too you. The recoil lug is not attached to the barrel like other rifles. The lug actually sits in the stock and on the bottom of the barrel there is a groove cut out that the lug sits in. The lug actually stays in the stock the whole time. It is kinda tricky getting everything to line back up together when you put the action back into the stock.

Hope this helps-Tim

Tim,

Thank you for the information.  When I first read about the set-up I felt it was one of two things: cheap or brilliant.  Do you feel it is a sturdy set-up?  Do you notice point of impact changes when the action is removed from the stock and then placed back?
