F.A. Factory Trigger Jobs

  I ordered mine with a 3.0lb trigger. I think std. is 4.5 - 5lb. Their site says 3.0 min. I guess for liability reasons?  How does F.A. lighten their triggers when doing the factory trigger job - bend springs - lighter springs - less hammer to sear contact?  Anyone have one with a pull of less than 3lbs?  Do the factory rimfire competition versions have a lighter pull than the other models?

Now this looks like a really good place for Bob Baker to jump in as who would know more than he on this? I personally don't much care for revolver pulls under three pounds.

From what I can tell it's a 'refinment' of the sear surfaces, but that is a bit of a guess from looking at mine.  IMHO 3lbs is about just right for a hand gun (or rifle).  The main issue is to have a crisp pull.  I have no issue with a 5lb pull as long as there is no creep.  And the stock FA triggers can have some creep.  Also Anything under 2.5lb can start to be a little touchy.

I don't know what they do at the factory.  I purchased a used 353 and it has a trigger under 1 lb pull.  I have worked on my 252 trigger and have it down near a pound.  Still clean and crisp, but don't have to strain to get the shot off.  I use both of these in silhouette competition.  These triggers would be dangerous on a hunting handgun, unless hunting in a controlled environment i.e. shooting prairie dogs, hunting from a stand with controlled movement by experienced handgun hunter, etc.  I am still working on my 41.  It is probably near 2.0 lbs for now.
