Elk drawing results

Can anyone explain to me why the elk tags are drawn and it takes 20 days to be able to make the results known?  Surely there is a good reason I am not thinking of.  I mean, there are only 300, and I am assuming it is all done by computer.  What's the deal?

Results are supposed to be on the fish and wildlife website on monday sometime
