Mauser Model 2000?

There is one up for auction here soon in 30-06.
Is this a descent rifle?
What would it be worth in good condition?
Also has a 3x9-40 Hy Score scope.

 PartsMan  I have owned a Mod. 2000 for about 35 years. Mine is an .30/06 also. Great shooter and my overall favorite whitetail rifle. Can not tell you what it is worth, but I will not sell mine - ever.
The rifle I have has a very smooth action, hinged magazine and a  chromed bolt. I have never seen or heard of another 2000 in 35 years. Let me know what you decide.

I have not seen it yet.
It just sparked my interest in the ad.
If it's in good shape I'll just shoot it.
Otherwise I am hoping for a project.

I don't know if you are asking me or the rest of the forum, but the only part to fail on my rifle was the bolt stop. Local gunsmith fixed it for me and at a very reasonable price. It is a quality firearm with a great trigger ( I forgot to say that in my last post). I would guess Mauser(website) could answer your questions about parts. If you do buy the rifle you will love it.

I had a Mauser 3000, also in .30-06.  It's a modification/upgrade to the Mauser 98, and parts are unobtainium - but you're probably never going to need anything a gunsmith couldn't fix, anyway.

The scope bases that fit many other guns also will fit the 2000 - so, If you like the styling  enjoy youself!

Hi All,

     Just thought you might like to know that the Mauser Model 2000 was made from May 1968 until 1974. However it was a not a real Mauser actually being a Hyem SR10. Heym has a good name of their own so quality is not an issue. The Mauser 300 is the same as the 2000 except it has not iron sights.

Wish there was a tactical length version for a Remmy 7oo.  The Holland handle on my custom job is fugly.  Works fine, but fugly.
