« on: June 03, 2003, 07:14:02 PM »
I just started loading 165 xbt barnes for my 300.I got my best groups with mid-range loads. Now, I had heard that crimping your bullets sometimes will produce better accuracy, something to do with uniform pressure.Has anyone had any expirience with this?I'll be using lee dies!

You bet your boots boy! You hit the nail right on the head... Ues that Lee factory crimp die on those Barnes bullets. This die is made to use on bullets with or without a crimp grove, and in my experience, and that of many other guys on here, you not only will achieve more consistent bullet pull and accuracy, but if there is any bullet runout, that collet crimp die will take it right out. You are on the right track for sure... The crimp (roll style) created by the bullet seating die will work too, used in moderation, but the Factory Crimp die is the way to go.... Dave
