I thought I was the only old cogger left that still hunted squirrel. Are there youngsters that hunt them?.

i am a young guy. im only 16. every one here in martin county squirrel hunts. half the girls i go to school with kill more squirrels than my uncle who has been squirrel hunting for 50 years. we have been out for over a month down here trying to find some squirrels.

I sure wish we had an early season here in NC...When does it open?? It would be neat to take my .40 flintlock and go hunt the Daniel Boone National Forest, I live in the area that he lived in NC in the 1750s-60s...

it opens the 18th of august. i would rather use my shotgun than black powder but am gonna mostly use a .22 because it helps my patience.

We have so many squirrels here we don't have a season. It's open year around. It seems that everyone around here has big game fever over the last few decades, and I am a minority.

yea. i had never heard of squirrel season in year round anywhere before. people around here seem to think it's always in though.

Yep! In this county there are so many that some see them as a nusiance, like the feral hog population. No season. Open year around.
