Well as usual I have too much time on my hands.
Todays adventure involved playing with my new toy, a tubing cutter.
I cut down some .270Win brass to 1.5" and pressed a 10mm auto bullet, diameter.401" into the case.
What I call the .40 Special was born!

Here is my best attempt to draw the cartridge..
I am seriously seeking qualified help to manufacture a rifle barrel that can make this work.
Let me know!

Sorry, Mr. Ackley, in his books, lists the ".38/40 Rimless" which was the '06 case cut off and a .38/40 bullet (.40 cal) seated... singled stacked in the M1 Carbine magazines... Of course, it headspaced on the mouth... but enjoy yourself... luck...

The people at CLYMER will make a reamer for me to my dimension...I may make it a tad longer so it will feed better.

You might be better off trying the 10mm Magnum, Starline offers brass and the reamers are already in the pipeline. Just a thought.
