I had the SW9M for awhile years ago when they first came out. I had problems early on and sent it back to S&W. It was better when I got it back, but still was not 100% reliable. Had failures to fire too often. I traded it for a Kel-Tec P11 even though the S&W felt better and was finished better. I had the Sigma .380 at the same time and it was 100% reliable, but the slide finish was terrible and wore off early. I think the SW9M's were hit and miss on reliability. It is kind of a pain to disassemble because you have to drive the pin out of the back, but with the proper tool it was done easily enough. My advice is to shoot it a lot and if it proves to be reliable, carry it.
