One Piece Talleys
« on: July 15, 2007, 01:32:34 PM »
I am looking to get the one piece Talley's for my T3 and have a few questions before I place the Midway order.

1.  Using a Zeiss 3.5x10x44, can I use the lows or do I need the mediums?

2.  Has anyone taken the matte finish off the Talley's?  I want the SS look to match the SS scope.  Would bead-blasting work or should I get busy with the steel wool?

I just put a med on an encore and was a bit lower than I needed. If you have the scope I would have you shim the scope then check the height you need. I did and was just a bit low, but I can reach the hammer with bare hands. Give that system a try, it worked for me.
It's time for THE SILENT MAJORITY to quit being silent!!

I have Tally LOW light weights on my T3 Hunter 6.5X55.The bell of the VXII 3-9X40 just clears the barrel by about 1/8in.I would say you need medium rings.Hope that helps.

I called Talley and asked them and they told me lows would be fine even with the scope covers.  I hope they were right cause I placed the order.  I will know tomorrow.  I will probably try to take the matte finish off.  I will post some pics.

If you remove the black you will need to get a clear anodize coat on them, if not it will turn to a green gray color. This company has a 1 pc. mount that you can get that is silver in color and clear anodized.    www.dednutz.com   ;)
