HMR Hates to be clean

The lil .17 HMR was shooting Amazing 3/4" groups at 100 yards, so I cleaned her... she got Mad and shot 3" groups  So I played a bit shooting Offhand about 20 rounds, then back to the bench, 3/4" again...

So instead of "Normal" cleaning, I just pulled the bore snake through her...  2.5" group ! blasted a few again, 3/4 " again... She's just a Dirty minded gal I reckon, and I love her for it  Neat lil caliber  ~Ace~

That's pretty normal for the both .17s, I have four 17hmrs and a 17M2, they all shoot best dirty, clean em and you're gonna be wastin ammo for a couple dozen shots, just the way they are. I'd be careful with that snake, they aren't always small bore friendly. I use a Patchworm in em, no need to brush.

Glad you two guys posted this info before I wasted money on rods, snakes and ammo scattering all over the place.

Will just leave 'em dirty then.  I'm lazy anyway when it comes to that.
