Peep sight trouble

I have a rear peep sight that I mounted on a 22lr nef rifle. It has what is supposed to be the tallest front sight that nef makes already installed on the gun. Both sights are screw mounted not dove-tailed. The problem is that I cannot get my groups any closer than 6" above the bulls eye. Any suggestions?

I'd measure the front sight and give H&R a call to see if they have a taller one. (866)776-9292

Another option would be to use the Williams Firesight and a shotgun ramp combination to get the right height if H&R can't help you, see the Peep and Firesight link in the FAQs.

thanks for the info. does nef sell the shotgun ramp and will the factory installed fronf site work with it? I called nef customer service and they said that I already had the tallest front site that they sold.

I don't think they do, and it depends on what the hole size is, they use 2 different mounting screw sizes, 6-48 and 3-56 or something much smaller size than 6-48, the shotgun and rifle ramps have 6-48 screws, the same size as the scope mount holes.

nef factory installed my fixed sites. all the holes are the same as the scope mount holes. any suggestions?

I'd measure your front sight height and call and ask em if they have a taller sight that uses a 6-48 screw.
