New Cannon Specs
« on: July 08, 2007, 01:45:29 AM »
Hi All,
 Happy July 4 and July 1 Canada day, I made  lots of racket up here north of the border on Canada day and the 4'th !!
I  am in the process of building a new cannon for golf balls, here are the specs,  3" x 1.70 DOM tube 26" long, 6"  solid bar breach plug with a 1" dia.  X 2" long  powder chamber with a shrink fit in tube, chamfered 3/8" and welded at back end , 12" long x 3" ID.   9/16" wall DOM tube  outer sleeve press fit and welded both ends over inner tube. Hope to shoot about a max of 400 grains FFG for long range target shooting. Safe?

To be the safest, ensure your DOM is seamless.

Sounds like one tough assembly.  You've done your homework on the dimensions.

Hi Cat,
The metal supply joint assured me the DOM is seamless, can't wait to touch this baby off!

Hey Walter;

Sounds like a doable gun.

I must remember Canada Day next year as an added excuse for shooting.

Good luck with the new gun.
