Please Help Me Decide - Handi 30-30?

I'm looking at the Handi Rifle in 30-30.  No gun shops in my area have one, so maybe someone here can help with some questions.

Does this gun (wood version) balance well?  I'd be using only open sights (no added weight of a scope).

Do the open sights work good?

Can peep sights easily be added?  In the past, I've read that some sort of gunsmithing (involving securing a new front sight with JB Weld) needed to be performed.  Is this still true?

See the Peep and Firesights link in the FAQs and Help sticky. Woods stocked Handis with standard contour barrels like the 30-30 are very well balanced. I don't use open sights, too old , can't help ya there. RR and The Gun Source both have the wood stocked 30-30 Handis in stock.

I really like the factory iron sights. My only 30-30 is a Marlin, but my Handi Hornet with the 22 inch barrel has the same balance and sights as the 30-30. I find the H&R sights to be very easy to use, even for my 59 year old eyes. I can't use the factory sights on my Marlin 336 but the Handi Rifle is real nice, as long as you have light. I can't find them looking into a dark shadow.
As for a peep, there is a Williams Fool Proof that is made for the Handi. I think you would want to change out the front post with a peep. The fat, square post on the handi might not be such a good match with a peep.

Thanks guys.  I ordered the Handi 30-30 today at Wal Mart.  Sports South has them in stock.  Should be here in a few days.

I think I'm gonna go ahead and order the synthetic stock/forearm and peep sights directly from H&R.

After deer season this year, I'll send it in for a turkey barrel to be fitted, and maybe a 22 hornet as well.

I'm in the process of selecting peep sights for my new (soon to be arriving) Handi Rifle 30-30.  I've looked at both the Williams FP and WGRS sights on the internet, and read some threads in this forum on peep sights.

My shots will be 75 yards max (OK, maybe 100 after I've gotten real comfortable with the gun).

I have some questions, for anybody who has the knowlege and time to answer:

1. Which of these two sights, if either, is click-adjustable for both windage and elevation?  Not that I'll be doing this while hunting; just for the sake of convenience at the shooting bench.

2. Do both come with various aperatures?  Ghost ring?

3. Does Williams make a fiber optic front sight that will fit directly into the pre-drilled Handi holes on the 30-30?  If so, what height front sight is right for the 30-30?

The FP is click adjustable I believe.  It is available with optional target knobs, so you dont need to use a screw driver for sight adjusting.  It does overhang the end of the barrel, by about 3/4 of an inch, so somewhat interferes with removing spent shell casing especially with a gloved hand.  Several have said that this is not a problem however.  Plus, the knobs can be locked with a screw after you fine tune it so you are not totally free of needed a tiny screwdriver when you go to the range. 

The WGRS is more compact overall.

I cant answer to what is available in apetures rings.
