Short ones. I like my model 7 7mm08 Remington. I've also had a couple of other favorites, a 600 308 and a 660 308.

What is your Favorite Bolt Action Rifle?

My sentimental favorite is an old M1- 30 Carbine my Grandfather brought home.

My favorite all-around rifle is a Schmidt-Ruben K-31 in 7.5x55 Swiss that I restored.

Right now I would have to say it is my  Model 70 HV in 223..it's one of the first ones they built with the HS stocks and  I purchased in like new condition...So far..I've only shot 3 types of ammo thru it..but it can drive tacks at 200 yards with the 55 grain Federal FMJ when I do my part..

I own many bolt rifles and a few levers and it is hard to choose a favorite, but this one is hard to beat.It is an early (64) Remington 700 30-06 in a rare carbine configuration..

Savage 110. Accurate Dependable and able to be almost any caliber you want it to be. I have 3 barrels for mine.

I like my Howas and CZs. My .308 Howa in the factory supplied Hogue stock has been pretty darn good.

I let my son have my favorite. A rem 660 in 308 w/20"barrel and a 2 3/4x redfield widefield. Now I'm leaning strongly toward my mod 70 featherweight in 6.5x55 w/1-4x redfield.

Lord, that's a tough decision for me to make.  These are the five I use 90% of the time:

Win M70 Classic Stainless in .308 Win. w/Leup VXIII 1.75-6
Sako Finnbear (early 1968 vintage) in .30-06 w/Sightron II 3-9
Ruger Tang Safety M77R in .280 Rem. w/Leup VXIII 3.5-10 x 50 and Brown Precision Kevlar & Graphite stock
Ruger Tang Safety M77RL UltraLight in .250 Savage w/Leup VXIII 2.5-8
FN Mauser (mid 60's vintage) in .270 Win. w/Tasco World Class Plus 3-9 (a good scope believe it or not)

I somehow managed to hang onto these through a nasty divorce, so they truly mean a lot to me.

If I had to choose one and only one, I guess I would put the Leupy 2.5-8 on the FN and keep it.  Or would it be the Ruger .280????

It's too hard of a decision!!!!  My brain is aching!!!

My customs are all favorites to me because they are built to my specs. But out of my production rifles it is my Kimber 84 Montana with Leupold ultra light scope with everything weighing in at 6.4lbs. it is a dream to carry in the field.

I know I posted up earlier with my Remington 700 but then somebody mentioned customs...I had to think about a couple of Mausers that I did and think they are pretty good too...These two were some of the first that I parkerized after learning how.

The lower picture is supposed to say >280Rem, not .208 ::)

My CZ 550 American in 7x57mm. I refinished the stock, glassbedded the action area and the first inch and one half of the barrel, free-floated the barrel, had the bolt handle polished and the bolt body jeweled, put Talley steel rings on it and a Leupold 4x12x40 scope on it and after all that fine=tuned two loads, one the Hornady 162 grain SST and the other the Nosler 160 grain Partition over H414 powder. My rifle was accurate before, but after the work it will put three SSTs into a .461 group using sandbag rests with ease. I once shot a .216 inch three shot group with it. Keep in mind the slug is moving out of the barrel at a chronographed 2,815 fps and I can reload the cases up to eight times with no problems. I could not afford a custom rifle, so this is as close to it as I could get. It gets the job done. Tom Purdom

I guess it be either my pre-64 Winchester model 70 in .30-06 or .220 Swift or .243 or .264, or my Mauser actioned Browning Safari in .308.

Don't get me wrong, I also like my Ruger 77's and my Remington 700's and 40-X's but accuracy isn't everything. I guess I'm the sentimental type. I sometimes get emotionally attached to some of my possessions.
