550 order time?

Well it has now been 6 months to the day since I ordered my 550 American in 6.5x55 swede and I still haven't received it. Is this normal? Anyone else experience this length of wait. I've purchased alot of guns from this dealer over the years and they are saying they ordered it immediately and that their distributor had/has none and that it had to come from the factory. Anyway I chose this gun/caliber because I have seen/shot a few CZ's and my research led me to believe this would be a great deer gun. I have plenty of guns so it's no emergency, just wondering out loud.
Well thanks to everyone for the pasts posts. I've read them all and evened learned some along the way!

If it were me I would have been looking elsewhere about five months ago. Try going to www.whittakerguns.com and get the telephone number. You will have to find someone with an ffl in your area. If whittakers tells you there is a problem getting the CZ 550 American in 6.5x55mm then you know for darn sure there is a problem. Six months is way, way too long.

Thanks for the reply 7x57mm. I agree that 6 months is way too long. If I was wanting this gun for a specific hunt or needed it by a specific time I would be really upset  and I probably should be anyway. Luckily I have many guns to choose from and my real obsession lately has been playing around with my contenders and the handful of barrels that I have which has kept me very busy.
Thanks for the info regarding whittakerguns. I think maybe it's time to look for an alternative and I will look them up and see if they can do me better (so to speak)

CZ 04101 550 American 6.5x55 is currently in stock at Sports South (distributor).  Just find a local FFL who uses Sports South and order.  Usually takes 3 or 4 days.  Link is
