Which Encore Scope Rings and Bases
« on: May 26, 2003, 06:33:59 AM »
I am new to the Encore and getting ready to purchase rings and bases.  I will be mounting them on a standard taper non magnum rifle barrel.  Which should I buy?  Should I buy a two ring or three ring set up?  Does anyone have any experience with the leupold T/C bases and rings or the EABCO bases and rings?

Thanks,

Smoky

I have presently got a barrel on order from Bullberry they are putting a steele base plate on this barrel I will be putting a Leupold Vari X III 3.5x10x40 scope on it. I will probably be useing the leupold rings also. I don't think that you can go wrong with the leupold. Hope this helps. :D

After much research and posting here on the forum I went with the Warne Maxima series of bases.  They are made of solid steel and are blued.  No whimpy aluminum bases here.  I purchased a base for each of my barrels and a set of regular rings and QD rings.  You will probably want to go with medium rings regardless of the size of you objective - unless its a larger one.  I'm not sure if the low rings will allow you enough thumb room to cock the hammer.  Mediums are just about right.

They're not cheap, and they're not light either.  But, I feel that it was money well spent - they're solid as a rock.  My 2 cents worht.
