Stubbing round 2 finished
« on: May 17, 2007, 03:37:12 PM »
This is what the finished (except for the parkerizing) project looks like.  Barrel finished off at 22 1/8 inches, I think I like it this length, the first one was a little over 24 inches.  Now it is time to try a new project, I think I will use some of the .410 barrel and make a screw on break for a .450 Marlin, I think DALESCARPENTRY may be willing to try it out on his new barrel.  Larry

It's a 30 Carbine chamber as I recall. Looks nice and should be fun even with cast bullets as near to 32-20 type velocities. I can see a real handy Handi there. Makes me want to find a little 12" Pratt & Whitney engine lathe and start playing. Ed Harris had a H&R converted to 32S&W Long and ran some lead bullet loads for squirrels and other 4 legged persona non grata.

This one has a 1 in 10 twist barrel, I bet it would shoot 180gr cast subsonic like crazy.  I was thinking about using a throating reamer on it just so it could chamber some long bullets.  Larry

1-10 twist will even shoot 200's and some 220's.
