Glock model 27

I am looking into buying one in 40 cal for work. Can anybody give me pros and cons to this model as well as other models to look at. What I like about this one is the smaller grips as my hands are not that big. Any suggestions?

I bought mine the first year that they were produced. It is a compact, easy to carry powerhouse. I think that the gun is about as close to perfect (for me) as I can get for every day carry. Pros:  easy to conceal, chambered for potent round, accurate, easy to strip and maintain, resistant to corrosion, and most importantly for a carry gun, RELIABLE. In fact, I have NEVER had a malfunciton after nearly 4,000 rounds.

I suppose that there are others that may fit the bill (Kahr, Sprinfield, etc,) but the Glock is a simple to operate reliable shooting machine. you simply cannot go wrong in my opinion. The GLock 27 has been at my side nearly every day for years.

I like mine but without the magazine extender it's really too short for me and I don't really have a very large hand. I much prefer the slightly longer grip of the 23 better. Some day I'll get around to trading my 19 for a 23.

The Glock 33 in .357 Sig. would be worth looking at as well. The exact same size as the 40. If you have small hands take a look at the Glock 36 in 45ACP. I have small hands and the 36 fits my hand like it was custom made for me.

I have a 27 w/+2 extension on my ankle and a 23 w/+2 extension on my hip and two +2 23 mags on my other hip. I feel very comfortable and well armed with mags interchangeable. All loaded with Winchester LEO  Ranger 155's. For something a little different, I also have Lone Wolf barrels for each in 357 Sig. Same mags work for both calibers. Like 4 guns for the price of 2 1/2.

I have a Glock 27, Glock 23 and I carry a Glock 22 while on duty...Of course the 22 is the easiest to shoot.  But, that 27 is not too bad.  I have big hands and that would be a problem if not for the pinky grip extender.  I carry the 23 or the 27 while off duty and to and from work...I would recommend the 27 to anyone wanting a relatively concealable sidearm that doesn't mind some moderate recoil.  Of course, with any firearm, practice is essential.  Practice shooting, practice drawing, practice, practice, practice...

The G27 is my BUG to my G22 while on duty, and of all my GLOCKs, usually finds its way to my hip when I am off duty.

Great little package.

I have fired the 27 and the 26 and while neither are particularly hard to shoot it is noticeably easier to shoot/control my either of my  23s in 40S&W or my 32 in 357 Sig.  I don't think concealing the slightly larger model 23 is appreciably harder to conceal than the model 27.  Unless you are buying this for ankle carry I would strongly recommend that you look at the 23 first.
