report... the pt 1911 dad bought fed reliably, was accurate, and ejected without a hitch.  the frontstrap checkering was not effective,  but him and i remedied that later.  the heinie sights were o.k.,  but i would have liked the front sight to be tritium dot; then i would say they would have been great.  the mags worked fine, dad had one aftermarket high cap that i knew at a glance wasnt gonna work. the mags that came with the gun worked without a hitch.  the trigger, while not on par with my kimber, wasnt bad.  the grips were hard plastic.  there are plenty of aftermarket options to fix that with minimal effort; if one was inclined.  the ones on it will work.   all and all i would rate the particular gun i shot as solid and reliable.  if i were in the market for a 1911,  i would go for a kimber first,  but the taurus did better than i expected.   if only taurus treated others on g.b.o. better i would suggest it.  for now all i will say is that the particular pistol i shot was a solid gun.  time will tell on the durabiltiy of it, as we will send plenty of rounds through it in the years to come.
