Since I hunt exclusively with quick shooters and all of my hunting rifles wear red dots, I guess you'd have to include me in this group. :wink:
I've found them better for me than scopes, in that they're quicker to acquire the target, and provide a more prominent aiming point than a standard crosswire reticle, and (for me) the fact that they don't magnify is a definite plus. Since I "game shoot" with both eyes open, the dot is very prominent in my line of sight, and easily finds its wayto my target area.
When I'm hunting in temperatures near 0 fahrenheit, I find that the batteries on some of my models have to be replaced every 3-4 days, but at temperatures at or near freezing, they will last 2-3 weeks.
