Easter present

Most husbands get their wives flowers, candy, occasional jewelery and such.  So far I have given mine 2 Colt SAA's in 45 Long Colt, a Uberti-made Winchester 73 in 45 Long Colt, a Rossi 20 gauge coach gun, a 50 caliber flintlock rifle, a 16ga smoothbore flintlock fowler and a 45 caliber flintlock pistol.  Decided that she needed a little something to take along on the road trips, so..........

I can't say that I am a fan of any the new S&W's with their built in safety lock system... much prefer the older version.  Unfortunately I also happen to live in California... a rather unhappy situation that we should be able to rectify within hopefully a couple of years.  California has this Holy Grail list of "safe" handguns... if it isn't on the list a dealer can't sell it.  A private party however can sell practically anything they want just as long as it is legal.

Found a S&W square butt Model 36 on one of the auction sites that was listed as Ca Legal... a private party !!!  Turned out to be in what I would call 98% condition, it had been fired very little if at all.  I am guessing that it is from the very early 80's as it has a pinned barrel.  Also has the diamond checkered grips, original to the gun as they have the serial number stamped in them.  Inside the yoke it is marked "Mod 36".  Serial number 5258XX.  Would muchly appreciate it if someone could verify the year of manufacture for me.

The wife is a happy camper.
