4X4 Article and Range Test
« on: April 22, 2007, 12:48:49 AM »
The June issue of S. Times features a review and range test of the new 4X4.  The author offers a decent account of the new rifle and also includes a comment or two of his experience with the ATR.  I didn't notice any of the "Kiss, Kick, Kiss" method of writing common with magazine articles.

The author did seem a bit surprised with the accuracy the rifle produced.  The caliber was 7mm Mag.   Five loads were tested.  Four were factory, with the fifth being a reload.  Of the factory loads, the largest group measured 1.30 while the smallest came in at 0.72 followed by a 0.78.  The lone reload measured 0.88.  The last load measured 1.22.

Sounds promising for what the gun is selling for. 350.00 in black synthetic stock in 338 win. mag. I still think it is a good deal a TikkaT3 I fell in love with in same caliber and stocl in s/s was 600.00 and the Savage same with adjustable muzzle brake was 570.00 decisions decisions

I like this Mossberg forum. Just got a 4x4 in 300 win mag. Haven't shot it yet. Got it for about $370 out the door. I'm looking for a scope , maybe a tactical type, in the $200-$300 range at the discount houses-need generous eye relief. Any suggestions? Thanks, guys. Hunman55
