357 Mountain Light

Yesterday I was looking at a S&W revolver in a gun shop. It has mountain Lite or Mountain gun on the left side of the barrel. It is very light and I think has a 2.5 or 3 inch barrel. The cylinder is gray and is a seven shot. Why can't I find any info on this gun on the S&W site. Like its weight and such. It has an orange insert in the front sight. The gun is new as they don't sell used guns or take trades. Anyone have any info on this gun and its probable model number? Thanks!!!

OK I now have some info for you. I located a 2006 S&W catalog and it is listed on page 33.

The gun is called Mountain Lite. Model number is 386, SKU #163687 MSRP $920. It was made on the L-frame. Barrel is 3.13" long. The front sight is a "Light Gathering" HI-VIZ Red Dot. Rear sight is adjustable, grips are rubber. Overall length is 8.13" and it weights 18.5 oz. Frame is made of Scandium alloy and the cylinder is made from Titanium alloy. Finish is matte silver.

James I had the 44 special version of that same gun and be warned the recoil is pretty severe with them. If your an experienced handgunner and are buying it to carry more then to shoot there a great gun but there not really good plinking guns. My 44 special with 250s and keith level loads that push it at about 1200 fps were probably just as severe as a 500 linebaugh.
