250 XTP 45 Colt velocity range for hogs

I'm reading a lot of varying opinions about the 45 Colt and hog hunting.

I'm sure this has been beaten to death, but how fast do you really need to drive, say, a 250 XTP in a 45 Colt Blackhawk to hunt hogs?

Would 1100 fps do the trick?

I worked up a load for the 250 XTP @ 1100 fps that I can really shoot well...but is it enough for hogs?

It will work for hogs as long as shot placement is good. I drive them 1200 fps as a deer load, but I greatly prefer a Hard Cast bullet in the 300 to 325 gr. range for hogs, again around 1200 fps.
