A Very Different kind of S&W Victory revolver
« on: April 12, 2007, 02:56:14 AM »
Hi
I recently came across this World War II Victory Model revolver in a buddies gun shop. I did a Little research on it, and Learned the grips are of Mexican origin and the engraving is thought to be as well. Someone sure Loved this Old Victory model, to have all this work Placed into it. The Victory models were known to have a dull Matte finish and no frills.I removed the side Plate and Oiled the action, and was Not surprised at how clean it was inside as well. I cleaned up the grips with Silver & Gold Polish, and found them to be 14 Karet Gold and stamped as such. I have never seen another Victory model with this amount of detail or angraving, and I feel this would make a good Barbecue gun... Hammerdown.

Sure has alot of engraving. Looks like one of those Mexican Victory guns I've seen in cowboy shows on T.V.

WOW !  that is a beautiful handgun ! Dig the history on that one as thoroughly as possible.
I would feel pretty confident it belonged to someone important.
