I don't know it it is the hardest finish but Brownell's talk up Gun Kote which is a thermal setting epoxy paint.

I'd say the NP3 From Robar is most likely the toughest. Also the Glock coating is quite tough but I don't know the process to apply it, or what it's called.

Thanks guys, Im not looking for something that I can apply but have the barrel and action sent out or have the gunsmith do it.

This glock finish you mentioned Dave, it's the finish on Glocks? I'll look into np3 and Gun Kote.

Thanks again

I used Falcon Gun Finishing for my custom rifle, you can see pictures in "My new Custom rifle" http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/topic,82912.0.html  This is the link to take a look at my rifle.

This is the sight for Falcon Gun Finishing  http://www.falcongunfinishing.com/aboutus.html

Good luck,

It is hands down Cera-Coat. It was developed to coat engine parts for hydrogen engines and is with out a doubt the toughest finish out there and it runs about $175 for a long gun these days.

CERA COAT BY FAR    I  HAVE HAD SEVERAL GUNS REFINSHED.  AFTER PICKING UP MY 870 SHOTGUN FROM MY GUNSMITH, LIKE AND IDIOT I DROPPED IT RIGHT OUT ON THE  OLD BLACK TOP.  PICKED HER UP AND WIPED HER OFF NOT A MARK.  THEN THE OTHER DAY I WAS TAKING A PART A BERRETA AND MY SCREW DRIVER SLIPPED AND SLID DOWN THE GUN,  THERE WAS A MARK ON.  I WIPED IT OFF AS WELL.  THAT STUFF REALLY REALLY WORKS.

Is that the same as the Wheeler Engineering "Cerama Coat" marketed by Midway?  It's a bake on finish you apply at home.  Very tough.
Vote them all out, EVERY election!

Does anyone remember the scene from "Quigley Down Under" showing the aborigines lined up on the skyline as far as you could see?   That needs to be US!
