What is the most unique caliber you own in a double action revolver? And you might be asked to post a picture.

ive got a smith 4440 N frame sitting here. Gun has allways been a tack driver. Its sold to a buddy and waiting delivery though.

My most unique caliber is .224 Harvey Kay Chuck in a hybrid S&W model 15 frame with a K22 barrel and cylinder reamed to the caliber.

Taurus Raging Bull in .480 Ruger. Yeah I know not all that unique but it's the best I can muster for this question at this time. I like to keep things simple.

Mine would have to be this Mod. 657 re-chambered and ported by Gary Reeder to 41 GNR .

Kinda a strange story behind it too , when i first got this gun it came with a box of Rem. 41 Mag ammo with 6 missing , picked it up for $250 ammo and all . Took it out and fired 6 more rounds , the brass was split from top to bottom . My first thoughts were GREAT i just bought a junk revolver .

Called S&W about it , they said send it back and they would check it , well i took it to my local smith first to see what he thought , turns out he says its a Reeder .

What the ---- is a Reeder , so he explains . to finish up , I called Gary , he sold me a set of dies and sent me the reloading data for it . now i just love this thing .

As of now Reeder has 28 diffrent wildcats that he chambers for , everything from .224 up to .510 .

Yes, the work on both of those revolvers was done by Verne Ewer, and all of the work he did for me was excellent!

Double action revolvers:

357-44 Bain & Davis in a S&W N frame

45 Colt in a Taurus Raging Bull (Caliber isn't unusual, but RBs in 45 Colt are so rare Taurus denies having made them.)

Ruger P89 in 7.65 mm Parabellum aka 30 Luger. Not a DA revolver, but an odd chambering.

saw a 357 max Ruger that a gunsmith had bored the cyl to accept 357 herret rounds , nice shooter , the top strap was already cut so they tried it , can remember how much metal was left , wish i had a picture to show !

In a double action revolver it would be my 410 GNR (which is a 454 necked down to 41 caliber). It is a rechambered 41 magnum Ruger Redhawk and really steps up the caliber.....RW

My unique double action would be my S&W 610 with a 5" barrel in 10mm. Nothing out of the ordinary...
Now if you want to throw single shot handguns into the mix I do have a few that are not usually found

stimpy im not a big 41 fan or a fan of readers guns but i have to admitt i shot kelly brosts 41gnr at the linebaugh seminar a couple years back and it was one of the best shooting long range guns ive ever had in my hands. it was adorned with all of readers cheesy engraving includeing naked women but if you knew kelly brost youd know that hes quite a bird and it fit him to a tee. We were shooting a 800 yard bufflao target and i had just won the 44 mag class using my accusport and he talked me into shooting his 41 and i actually did better with his 41! I think he was shoot 250 lfns out of it from his bussiness that were out of an lbt mold. If i would have had a file and a can of spray paint with me id of probably tried to talk him out of that one!!

At the range I shoot at I am limited to 200yds, I often find myself plinking at the Ram at 200, but I'm consistently amazed no matter how often I see it, at truly long range hand-gunning. I usually find myself walking my rounds out at I adjust for range but you boys that get them out there I surrender to (wish I had a little smily face that would extend its arms and bow down).

I've been a big 41 fan for years , everything from the 41 Spl. to the 41 Rem. Mag to the old 401 Herters .

So far 400 yards has been the max that i've shoot the Reeder at , that was with the 170 grain Sierra HPs and a healthy dose of H110 . That load is pushing just over 2100 fps . Not to shabby for a 8 3/8" handgun .

I plan to use it next spring in Ok. for hogs , ought to do a great job . I also have a H&R 22 Hornet barrel that will be going to Gary for a 224 GNR re-chamber as soon as it comes in from the factory .

Where in OK are you hunting at? I'll be stomping around Prague and just east of Shawnee this year, I have two customers that have been on my back to come out and clear some meat, I finally got to the point where I think I'll be able to. I'll be running the 375 super-mag and/or the .445SM depending on what the range looks like. Both are super accurate and my god that .375 is soooo comfortable to shoot. Barks like a bear and recoils like a .357 mag.

It will be in the SE part , down by Darant , one of the good-ol-boys ( Ditchdigger ) from the P-dog shoot has said that i'm more than welcome to come over and help him thin out the little porkers .

By the way , when are you going to start re-chambering the H&R barrels in the 22 Reed Express , i'd love to have one .

If you ship out a blank without the extractor cut I'll be more than happy to chamber it. Just finished up another T/C barrel for a gent in CA. I'm not set up to actually make the barrels so you'd have to have that done elsewhere. You'll have great success down there, was down in Wilburton not too long ago and they were thick thick thick. Heck this spring the rangers where out in the choppers thinning them from the air. Before the rain hit they were tearing up the fields bad.

And in here lies the problem , H&R will not sell barrel blanks , unlike the TCs , H&R hand fits every barrel to a given frame with the extractor or ejector installed .

PS -- Can't wait to take some of that pork , we are just starting to get some here in Ohio but not enough to hunt yet .
