45LC range report
« on: March 28, 2007, 09:15:21 AM »
:D Finally made it through the mud and snow to get to the range today. Had to chase three deer away from a sunny bare spot where they were grazing. I used a number of loads I have for my blackhawk. All at fifty yards.

These were using my tired old eyes and really inadequate factory sights. Looks promising to me. Had a lot of fun. Recoil was all but nonexistent.

Amen to what stimpy just said ... the .45 colt has long been my favorite caliber too. I have some six-shooters and a Marlin CB in .45 colt ... a very versatile caliber and really fun to reload for in my opinion.

+2 for the 45 colt, have one being fitted with a 357 don't know when I will get it back. Should compliment the ruger black hawk & winchester nicely

I have a 16 in 94 saddle carbine. Sould be right interesting experiment in velocity with the 4 5/8 16 & 20in tubes. I usually shoot 250 xtp's over 296

Shanner the barrel locked up fine on a couple of frames Thanks again
