Tikka Whitetail - Range Results

Finally got to sight in my new (old stock) Tikka Whitetail Hunter (M695).  After a shaky start due to a wobbly bench and poor shooter technique, I'm pleased. This is a .270 with a Leupold 3X9 VX-II in Talley Lightweight mounts.  I tried 4 brands of factory 130 gr ammo.  Worst to best was Rem Core-lokts, Hornady Custom SST, Fed Fusion, and Fed Prem (Sierra Game King).  Best 3 shot group @ 100yds was the Fed Prems (1/2") and then the Fed Fusion (5/8").

Really liked the trigger (I didn't adjust it) ... I would guess it broke @ 3# and was crisp, with no overtravel.  I'm not that good a bench shooter, so I'm very happy with this Tikka!

 Glad your happy with it,man I miss mine. Mine was excatly like your but with a Burris. I handloaded 130's for mine but found it very hard to get as good of resluts as I did with Winchester Supreme 130's.

You know.... I forgot to try the Winchester's !   
Guess I'll  get a box or Power Points ... and a box of Supremes and give them a try.   

One more thing about the Tikka... The barrel was so easy to clean (compared to my M70).  I mean there was no copper fowling at all. Is that a sign of a well made/polished bore?

  Good old Sako.   The ones that did the best for me was the 130 gr. Supreme Ballistis Silvertips # 29-898-294-07
