PRS Molds "sold out" AGAIN!?!?!

A Pard has contacted me in his quest to buy some Lee 6 cavity molds in 454-250-RF(PRS).  He reports that the Lee order desk says they are sold out and he would need to belly-up t' the bar with an extra $100.00 US.

Dang! and Double Dang!  Why 'ntarnation don't they just stock the blasted thing as regular stock?!  Dennis, can ya get another batch released by Da Man?

Given the original order, the follow-up order, the sold out  similar .38/357 Snakebite version and the sold out .44 Mav Dutchman version -- seems like Lee would get the idear to just make these and sell 'em.

Whoa there the 38/357 snakebite version? Where have I been?? That is just what I am looking for.
 
Mr. PRS, do you have a number for that mold I can call Lee and order for the 38/357?? Think Snakebite would have an extra one?

If'n Snakebite does have one and didna let be buy it; then I'm go'n fer da rope!  Snakebite's version is unusually long and lets ya load fer them .357mag rifles using .38 cases and still have the correct OAL.  Goatlips let me borrie his Snakebite mold through the winter and I cast up a big ole cash of them little boogers.  I had some trouble getting them to drop from the molds at first, but finally got it to co-operate pretty well.  Have no .357/.38 cowboy irons to shoot them in, may barter fer sum one o' these days.  If ya do buy into another order, let me know.

Now a Pard over on another board tells me Lee is going to provide him with a replacement mold for his PRS mold that is dropping oversized boolits  If they are gone, how can they do that!?!?!?  If they are gonna make him one, why not mill out a mess of them?  GeeMoeKnee! :roll:

:? I wrote to john Lee a long time back and suggested that the company consider making the PRS and similar molds for BP cartridge affectionados a regular production item. I told him at the time that Frontier Cartridge is probably the fastest growing catagory in CAS circles and there would definately be a market for the product among that group and that my expereriaments indicated that the PRS works great with smokeless powders too.

I guess I wasn't persuasive enuff. :cry:

I contacted Snakebite and no he doesn't have one and he doesn't understand why they didn't make up more either. Oh well. After his email though, I think I wouldn't be able to load my usual load under the bullet. I do OK with the bullets I use now, but since I have just got into casting, I thought I would like to try one if still available. Thanks.

Wow, I sure appreciate the offer PRS, most neighborly of you for sure, but I think I will just amble along with what I have for now. I would like to try something different in my long range stuff too. I shoot a 38-55 at 380 dia. and a 44mag single shot that I use for plainsman. Right now I have been doing pretty good with the 38-55 with an SPG lubed Mid Kansas 245gr bullet over 777 and milk carton wads. It does real well. I just wish I could shoot it as good as it shoots.  :?
