The only official reference to "super" in the context of Encores I know of relates to T/C pistol barrels.  How long is the barrel in question?

I know you didn't ask but I was in your same shoes. Get the .50cal. You can load it with the same size bullets as in that .45 with the use of duplex sabots, but not the other way around, check www.prbullet.com    .50cals have a much larger bullet selection to choose from. The 50cal is lighter, due to the bigger hole in the barrel. You will also notice that due to the increased bore volume, more of the powder is actually burned. The 50 is just more versatile. I shoot 335g hardcasts @1235fps with 55g of 777 ffg into one ragged hole, very quiet, low recoil, massive penetration.

Swampthing.......Do you cast your own or buy them?  Are they bore sized conicals or are you shooting them in a sabot?

I buy them from www.prbullet they are .45cal and come with sabots, have a .340 meplat.
I think the problem with a hardcast conical is not "if" they're accurate, but getting them loaded without braking a hole through your hand as hard alloys don't tend to squish easilly.
