Zachary,

Just picked up another new Tikka today. :-D Now I have two Tikkas to shoot. Now if I can find some spare time and the weather improves... a 6-18 Bushnell is going on top. I have 50gr ballistic tips and 50gr spitzers reloaded and ready to go. :D

Groundhogs grab your kevlar :gun4:

Urika,

That Tikka Continental (especially in .223) is a gun that I have been looking at for quite a long time.  It is a very fine piece of work.  There was one on either gunbroker or auctionarms, but I never bid on it - although maybe I should have.

So how much did you pay for it?  Maybe I'll just go ahead and get one myself.

Zachary,

I paid $530 for it. The store owner ordered 6 of them and I bought the last one. This one has the 26" barrel and it's marked Stoeger instead of Beretta. Supposedly, I bought it for a $100 under dealer cost. Original tag price was $645. It's nicely balanced, even more so than the vls I was going to buy earlier. Maybe this weekend I can shoot it if this May rainy season lets up.

Urika,

$530 is currently below cost for the Continental, but that's under the Beretta name.  It may still be below cost under the Stoeger (importer) name, but I don't think it's $100 below cost.

In any event, you got a great deal on it.  If I had the opportunity to get a Continental for $530, I think that I would jump on it.
