Pro Hunter in .243? Anyone shooting one?
« on: March 05, 2007, 07:13:44 AM »
Well, picked up a new Pro Hunter Frame this weekend, and mounted one of my blued barrels on it.

The Boss Lady walked by and commented that it was "Ugly"...   :-\   Buy a new barrel in Stainless to match...   ;D

Seeing that I have have rifle barrels in 25-06, 7mm-08 and the 30-06, I was thinking of getting the .243 in the Pro Hunter barrel.  This would make a dandy rifle for the boss...

Anyone shooting one?  If so how they doing...

Just got the .243 PH barrel installed but haven't had it to the range yet.

I picked up my PH last summer in 243. It's a gun I'll never get rid of! I did have a trigger job done on it as it had a heavy 6lb pull and bad creep, but now with a 3.5 lb pull and no creep it's great. I shoot 70 or 80 grain Nosler ballistic tips over the max H-414 powder (check the Nosler load data, I can't recall that info right now) and I get 100 yard groups like this:
