.17 Mach IV ???

I'm unfamiliar with the .17 mach IV....is it rimfire? centerfire? what is it comparable to? A .22 mag necked down to .17 ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Its a centerfire based on the 221 Fireball cartridge........here's a link to some load/velocity data that may interest you.

The 17 Mach IV is a 221 centerfire fireball neck down to 17 cal. It will push a 25 grain bullet at 3372 feet per second. A load is BL-C2 19 grains with 25 Gr. HDY HP bullet.
