Are all Contenders like this?
« on: February 27, 2007, 03:19:03 AM »
Got a new set of custom furniture for the Tender.  Went to attach the grip and I could not get the bolt to thread thru the grip and into the lug (or whatever its called) on the frame.  When I looked at it the threaded hole in the lug was not even close to centered.  It is forward and to the right.  Of course the custom grip has the hole dead center so they don't match up.

Is this just POOR QUALITY CONTROL on my pistol or is this the way Thompson does it on all their Contenders.  This one was manufactured in around 1998.  Shoots great, but this really bums me out.  Looks like possibly a call to Thompson or getting the dremel out.  But if I start taking wood out of the grip I risk a sloppy fit and maybe some grip shift when shooting.
