Thinking About Trading My Encore!
« on: May 10, 2003, 06:09:20 PM »
I really like my Encore; however, I'm seriously thinking about trading it for a Contender. It seems like most of the barrels and super good deals are for the Contenders.

What do you guys think? Should I trade it for a Contender, a G2, or just get a Contender frame ?

Are there any other good sites for the T/C guns out there. Where have you guys found your best bargain web sites?

Thanks,
Fred

hold on to that encore if you like it. you'll be sorry if you send it packin. just save up a little and get a G2 or old model contender to add to the collection. a man can't have too many handguns

I wouldn't trade it off unless you're sure you're never gonna want anything the Contender can't handle...and who's ever sure about that! Start with pieces if you can't afford the whole thing now, edstc.com or alewisenterprise.com I've dealt with both and they're great guys. And I'd check their prices on all the pieces before I bought anything from an auction site. Also the classified section here...better stuff, less hassle.

Yeah. You guys are probably right. I'll just regret it later.

Looks like a G2 is in the future!

Thanks,
Fred

I stuck with the Contender and picked up a SSK custom 375 JDJ.  THis caliber has done it all.  I retire from the Air Force in a 2 years and plan on taking a trip to Africa as a retirement gift to myself.  Bigger is not always better, shot placement and bullet style are more important.  A buddy of mine took his cape buffalo with is Mag-Na-Port custom Ruger Redhawk in 44 mag using 320 grain SSK hard cast bullets.
If you like the Encore keep it and pick up a Contender.
The only thing you should feel when shooting insurgents is recoil.
