Hmmm need a little more info on the rifle as Parker-Hale made several models. However a quick overview is that P-H had a very good reputation for good accurate barrels and rifles. The actions are Mauser 98 types made for P-H by several companies dependign upon the year of manufacture.

About the most common model is the 1200 Super which has the Californian style stock with roll over cheek piece and squarish fore stock which has a rose wood tip and grip cap with a gold plated trigger.

Now P-H did make another model called the Midland which used a Springfield 03 type bolt,

I've had three, one I made into a 6.5x55 for my dearly departed wife. They were good rifles. I don't think Parker-Hale makes them, they contract them out I think. Mine were all Mauser supreme action's and reasonably accurate. There were some other's since I had mine that were nicer looking but I can't remember what they were called. They will handle whatever you feed them so long as it's reasonable.

38 years ago I bought a new mauser actoned PH 1200 with a "Timney" type trigger in .243.  Got it at a JC Pennies or $125, a lot of money for a young man with a family at the time.

It looked much like a Weatherby with a very thin barrel.  It would usually put the first two rounds overlapping but following rounds through a hot barrel would fly off into a 3 in. wad.  I hated that accuracy and eventually traded it for an early model Weatherby Vanguard, also  in .243.  Much later, I got a little smarter and I truly wish I could have the PH back!  Any light weight hunting rifle that puts its first two into one hole is a jewel without price.  NOW I know!  My Vangard is still accurate but not that accurate.

Too soon old, too late smart.

Parker-Hale had a large factory at Golden Hillock Road in Birmingham and  finished the actions and made their own barrels there as well as sights. The stocks came from SILE In Italy the triggers have Parker-Hale on them but if they made them or not I cannot say. P-H polished and blacked all their own stuff as well to a high standard.

The P-H models that I am aware that they made are :-

Model 1000, 1100, 1100M, 1100 Lightweight, (African Magnum), 1200, 1200 Super Clip, 1200V and 1200TX (single shot target rifle) Scout, Pro Hunter, M81 Classic, M84, M82, Safari, Super Safari, Hussar, Envoy, Enforcer and the Midland. And that does not include the Military rifle conversions to sporting rifles and Target rifles using customers own Enfields.

This is what I ended up with. ! Can't knock it for $200.  I'm assuming the scope is a Weaver with the micro-trak on it, but can't find a model number...

Hmmm I know a certain feller in America that would call you a "Horse Thief" for getting that P-H 1200 Super for $200. My monitir is slowly going south and those photos are dark to me but I can just make out the stock and Rose Wood fore end plus the Gold plated trigger.

Seems to me if my memory [?] serves me the PH rifles used the neat Santa Barbara actions and were great guns. In Hawaii they were sold by J.C. Penny and were a good deal then and now too. Good solid rifles. As one of the other poster noted-- the slim barrels sometimes didn`t shoot too good when hot but then? What does? You got a good deal. Do you keep your checkbook  in the same drawer as your gun and mask? LOL

Should I even bring up the $40 20 gauge, $90  Knight muzzle loader, and free wading boots?   ALL from the same guy. Works across the hall from me. Wish we'd hired him years ago.  Seriously, I do appreciate the good fortunes life brings.

I have 2 P-H 25-06 and 308.  I love these rifles. Very accurate rifles.  You made a excellent deal on it.  I am always looking for other calibers in the P-H

Wow, I wish I had your luck to run across a deal like that.  The P-H is accurate and consistent.  I agree with the posts, can I borrow the mask?
