Burris vs Weaver.....

I tested the Burris 2x7 that I have on top of my '06.I took 20 rounds  loaded with 58grs of IMR4350 and the 150gr NBT.Ten shots with the Burris @ 100=just under 2.5 Ten shots with the 2.5x8 Weaver @ 100=just a tad over 1.6 The Weaver is going to stay on the '06.Burris does not have a good eye relief on 7 power and the cross hairs are soooo thick. The Weaver has thin cross hairs and a thick post.On 8 power I can hold it out were it should be.Yes, I know the Burris has more FOV but I would take the Weaver over the Burris any day :)

well now this is interesting.   looking for a scope for my new sbh hunter and was considering the weaver scope.    dealer had a used black leopold, but wanted 150 for it.   i think i can do better.   how long have you had the weaver, and anyone have experience with them over extended usage?   we had some scopes on our 22's,  really accurate with the fine crosshairs but i dont know how they handle the recoil.   i am guessing that it will hold up.   family member of mine has worked for outers for years.

Well, I have Two 2.5x8 Weavers I picked up one of them used for $100.I have had no problems at all they have been on a 445 Supermag,45-70,and a 358JDJ.The one I have on the '06 now was on top of my 358JDJ for several years it held up to the 358JDJ just fine.I like them alot good clear and accurate scope.I'd get another in a heart beat.Just a good scope. :D
