I'll give you my two cents...I've got one of the original Redfield 3 X 9 widefield lo-profile scopes on both my .260 Encore and on a Savage Model 110 .243. My son uses the same scope on his Savage .260. If you can find an older (made in the 60's or '70's) lo-pro's in the $150 - $175 range at a gun show or on an online auction, I'd recommend looking at it. I've owned and shot the one on the .243 for 42 years and it, and the one on the .260, have helped account for a lot of whitetails and varmints without fail . Personally, I like this scope better than both the Leupold VX1 3 X 9 and the Nikon 4 X 12 that I have on other Encore barrels.With its low-profile, wide field of view, and optics it makes a really nice set-up on the Encore.
